Hello, I’m Kasia a registered nutritionist who is passionate about supporting people on their health journeys. I believe that with help most people can prevent disease and restore health.

My fascination with the idea that food is so much more than energy and pleasure began when I had my first child. Whilst exploring what makes an infant thrive it became apparent that nutrition is a hugely broad topic affecting all aspects of our health throughout lifespan. I also learned that what we eat is only one of many daily choices we make which influence both our physical and mental wellbeing.

Soon I became aware of how many people are either suffering or know someone who suffers needlessly from preventable conditions. Quite clearly my own lifestyle and eating habits needed addressing and most notably my ‘sweet tooth’, level of alcohol consumption and lack of daily physical activity.

With these in mind I needed to know the why and the how, which is the science of health and disease that led me to enrol onto a full-time degree course in Nutrition. Learning the ‘nitty gritty’ of human physiology helped me understand its multidimensional interactions with the environment and its consequences. In addition, I have been exploring other aspects affecting general health such as sleep, stress, movement, environmental toxins and more.

I specialise in putting metabolic syndrome into remission through sustainable lifestyle changes. Metabolic syndrome is a cluster of abnormalities, which can include insulin resistance, type 2 diabetes, hypertension (high blood pressure), cholesterol abnormalities (high triglycerides and low HDL), excess abdominal weight and non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NALF).

Metabolic syndrome also plays a significant role in other chronic conditions such as cardiovascular disease, polycystic ovary syndrome and can be a contributing factor in the development of some cancers and dementias.

Additionally, it is worth a mention that as metabolic disfunction gets addressed and inflammation reduces, hormonal, neurological, and autoimmune issues often improve or sometimes are resolved.

Some of my spare time is devoted to being a proud Ambassador for the Public Health Collaboration, a UK registered charity working closely with GP practices dedicated to informing and implementing healthy decisions for better public health via a number of projects.
